The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released official notification of All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE) 2023 for the admission into to Class VI and Class IX in 33 Sainik Schools across the country, for the academic year 2023 - 2024.
Sainik Schools are English medium residential schools affiliated to CBSE and managed by Sainik Schools Society (Ministry of Defence). They prepare cadets to join the National Defence Academy, Indian Naval Academy and other training academies for Officers.

Eligibility Criteria of Sainik School Admission
Candidates wish to appear for AISSEE 2023-2024 session must have following educational qualification
Class VI: Candidate should be between 10 and 12 years as of 31.03.2023. Admission for Girls is open in Class-VI only in all Sainik Schools.
Class IX: Candidate should be between 13 and 15 years as of 31.03.2023 and should have passed Class VIII, from a recognized school, at the time of admission. Admission to Class IX is not open for girls.
Examination Fee of AISSEE 2023
Candidates appearing for AISSEE 2023 must pay an application fee as mentioned below. Application fee must be pay only through online mode.
# SC/ST: Rs. 500/-
# Others: Rs. 650/-
The exam fee is also required to be paid online through payment gateway, using debit/ credit cards or internet banking or UPI.

AISSEE Qualifying Marks
# A candidate is eligible for admission to the Sainik Schools, if he/ she secures a minimum of 25% marks in each subject of the exam and 40% marks in aggregate of all the subjects of AISSEE 2023. However, admission will be based on relative merit (in AISSEE) of candidate in his/ her category in the school opted by him/ her, medical fitness and verification of requisite documents.
# However, no minimum marks are prescribed for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe category. They will be admitted on the basis of inter-se merit at the Entrance Examination within their respective categories, subject to their meeting the eligibility requirements, medical fitness and verification of requisite documents.
# In case an SC/ST/OBC(NCL) category candidate comes in the general merit on his/ her own, he or she would be admitted against general seat and will not be adjusted against the reserved share of SC/ST/OBC(NCL) seats.
